Second Year: Expressive Arts Therapy

Art Therapy Student

She/Her/Hers
Languages: English, Japanese

Ai is an Expressive Arts Therapy student and educator who combines her passions for arts and education, dedicated to providing a compassionate and loving space. Her curiosity about cultivating self-love and care led her on her journey into Expressive Arts Therapy, where she is able to understand herself more deeply and embrace her true self.

She aims to provide care that focuses on well-being, mindfulness, connection to the heart and body, and the development of self-esteem. In her practice, she believes that making mistakes is part of the learning process, that recognizing our resilience is essential, and that consistent practice in the expressive arts builds confidence to navigate challenges in all areas of life. As an immigrant, Ai has a deep understanding of challenges related to language barriers and cultural adjustment. She brings her gifts to support others facing similar obstacles, helping them express their emotions and feelings. Additionally, her 15+ years of experience in education have given her broad insights into supporting young children who struggle to express themselves verbally, allowing her to approach them from their perspective.

Outside of work, Ai enjoys participating in the swing dance community, creating art, exploring nature, and playing the piano and ukulele.
