I believe that change happens through relationships. As a counsellor, I work to build a safe and trusting relationship through empathy and non-judgment. This creates the foundation you need to heal, grow, and build stronger connections to yourself and others. If you’re struggling to manage your emotions, coping with grief, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just stuck, I’m here to guide you on your path forward. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify unhelpful patterns and build self-awareness, confidence, and skills needed to navigate life’s challenges.
My primary approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which fosters self-acceptance and clarity. A quote I love is “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” by Carl Rogers. I integrate aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focus Brief Therapy to meet the unique needs of each client.
I come from a family of mental health advocates and knew from a young age that I would follow in their footsteps. With over a decade of experience in mental health, I’ve worked with diverse populations, including adults with acquired brain injuries and individuals facing homelessness. I believe strongly that society and systemic issues cannot be separated from our mental health challenges. Recognizing that healing is holistic, I can work with you to identify and access community resources. Together we will build your resilience and connect you to your community.
In my personal life I find balance and inspiration in nature by spending time outdoors – whether I’m skiing, hiking, camping, or canoeing.I bring this same sense of calm and renewal into my work, helping you reconnect with your own sense of strength and well-being.
